Since the Depict Frame needs Wi-Fi to work, there will need to be Wi-Fi available in the space. The Depict Frame and Depict app require a secure Wi-Fi connection to communicate with one another, which means they require WPA2 network with a password. Mobile hotspots, guest networks, and other types of internet service are not recommended; however, a mobile hotspot with a WPA2 password can work if needed.
To better understand your current Wi-Fi setup, please read through the following examples.
- Example 1: (Recommended)
The Wi-Fi name is "JohnsonResidence". Your Wi-Fi password is "Home123", and once those credentials are entered, you immediately have internet access. Most similar to a standard home internet.
- Example 2: (Not compatible with Depict)
The Wi-Fi name is "Hotel". Your Wi-Fi password is "Guest", and once those credentials are entered, you still need to enter your own username and password into a browser that appears to get internet. Most similar to a hotel or a Starbucks.
- Example 3: (Not compatible with Depict)
The Wi-Fi name is "OpenNetwork", and there is no password. Once you select your Wi-Fi name, you immediately have internet. Most similar to a public network.
